I’ve owned and operated a boutique staffing and recruiting firm for 20 years.  Like many small businesses, I’ve experienced booming highs and hard lows over years. The past 5 years have been stagnant with limited growth, however, I felt I was working harder than ever.  After experiencing a health challenge in January of 2018, I realized I was consistently working “in” my business and not “on” my business.  I made a few changes, trained and delegated more responsibility to my staff, which allowed me to create more personal time but, no real business growth.  Fast forward to Dec 2018; I’m on Instagram and a social media personality I follow because of the Natural Hair movement – Natural Girls Rock says…” are you working on your business or in business?”  I couldn’t get the statement out of my mind and found out the social media personality was KellyJ owner of Natural Girls Rock as well as a Business and Life Coach.  I reached out to her via a direct message, we scheduled a consultation and I signed up to hire her as my Business Coach to kick off 2019.  BEST DECISION EVER!! 

I have many amazing Mentors but, I’d never worked with a Business Coach before.  I really didn’t know what to expect but, KellyJ eased me into the relationship.  What I like most about KellyJ, is her passion for process and technology. She has the ability to make learning exciting and she has a genuine concern and care for her clients. She listens and pays attention to who you are as an individual and caters her coaching to fit your specific needs.

Over the past year, her skills in coaching helped keep me on track and focused on my goals. She also helped me face realities that I sometimes wanted to ignore.  I’m clearly better off for facing them straight on. Her consistent 'can do' attitude and encouragement were invaluable.  To date, we are almost $100K over our 2018 revenue.  This revenue gain was made by implementing strategies recommended by KellyJ to work “on” my business and not “in” my business.  In addition to $100K revenue gain, I was able to take a 10 day dream vacation to Italy this year!  This was the first vacation in 20 years that I wasn’t chained to my laptop working.  The experience was priceless!  I wholeheartedly recommend KellyJ to anyone with the goal of scaling/growing their business or simply ready to make life changes.

The coaching process with Kelly helps me to explore, determine, and actualize many professional and business goals.  She not only gives me strategies for changing old habits, but constructively challenges my preconceptions so that I see the value and productiveness of new approaches to practice management, client relations and marketing.  Unlike my Mentors, having KellyJ as a Business Coach is like having a Strategist, Visionary, Critic and Confidante wrapped into one!!  I’m looking forward to continuing to work with her in 2020!
